Bishop Harry R. Jackson, Jr
Senior Pastor of Hope Christian Church in the Washington, DC, area, Bishop Jackson oversees a multi-cultural congregation with two branches, one in the District of Columbia and the other in Beltsville, MD. His literary works include In-laws, Outlaws, and the Functional Family, The Warrior’s Heart, and The Way of the Warrior. Bishop Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the esteemed Williams College and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Before his religious career, he gained experience in various Fortune 500 companies.
Through its Jeremiah ministry, which offers food, clothing, and financial assistance to the less fortunate, Hope Christian Church demonstrates its commitment to serving the poor and afflicted. The church’s impact on the global community is evident through the music and teaching teams that have led conferences in various countries, including Germany, England, Nigeria, South Africa, India, and Argentina. Moreover, the church has partnered with a daughter church in South Africa to support a mobile AIDS medical facility, showcasing its practical approach to making a difference. Widely recognized for its impact on public policy and societal change, Bishop Harry has met with several members of Congress, visited the White House on numerous occasions, and given countless media interviews, all aimed at presenting a biblical worldview to the leaders of our city and nation.
As the founder and Chairman of the High Impact Leadership Coalition (HILC), Bishop Jackson has emphasized the importance of the church and its leaders in safeguarding America’s moral values and upholding the nation’s principles. Through his leadership, HILC has become an influential force for healing in our nation, providing education and empowerment to churches, communities, and political leaders. HILC’s educational summits held across the country have enabled high-impact leaders to positively impact their communities, states, and the nation as a whole. Bishop Jackson’s work has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2011 Watchman of the Year Award presented by the Family Research Council.
Bishop Jackson is a renowned authority on the black church and has conducted extensive research on the subject. In 2005, he co-authored the book High Impact African American Churches with George Barna. He was nominated for the Evangelical Press Association’s prestigious Gold Medallion award and ultimately received the Silver Medallion award. In addition, Bishop Jackson was recognized by the Christian Post as one of the top 50 most influential Christians in 2005.

He is happily married to V. Michele Jackson, and has two grown daughters.
